Can you really teach me how to design a website in 6 Days?
Yes, absolutely! If you can read, write and most importantly pay attention, (no nodding off) we can teach you how to design a better than average completely "Professional" website by today's standards. Our classes have been designed by an industry expert. Though we have made our classes easier for the novice, do not assume that the material has been dumbed down or somehow inferior in it's content. You will learn everything you need to know to create your new site and what's more, you will maintain it by making changes yourself.

What exactly will I be learning in the 6 Day Website Design class?
You will be given valuable insight from an industry specialist that shows you the fastest and most efficient way to design a website. The tips, tricks and knowledge that will be shared with you are guaranteed to be exciting and motivating. When this knowledge is shared with you, any apprehension and reservations you might have about designing a website yourself will start to fade away. It's this knowledge that will allow you to not only design your own site but maintain it after it has been completed.

Do I have to register a Domain Name to take this class?
If you have not yet decided to host a website and are only taking the "6 Day Website Design" class for continued educational purposes the short answer is no. All that this means is, that you will be assigned a sub-domain folder for the duration of the class.
Instead of your website name looking like this: http://www.mydomain.com
it will look like this http://www.classesfordummies/myfolder
Other than the visual appearance in your browser address bar and having to type a bit more, your website installation will behave exactly like any other website during class.
NOTE: If you decide later that you suddenly would like to register a domain name and host a website of your own. You may have a little extra work changing file paths to images and effected hyperlinks. But nothing you won't be able to handle as this comes at the end of the class.

Is anything required to take this class?
The most important thing you will need is a desire to learn. We will assume you have that if you are reading this FAQ. You should already be familiar with your computer and it's capabilities. We do not teach basic computers 101 in the Website Design class. You should also understand how to browse the Internet using one or more of the popular browsers available. An understanding of both sending and receiving of email, as well as knowledge of computer paths and file naming conventions is required.
You will need the following equipment:
- Wireless laptop running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
(Mac users Welcome!, must be running Windows)
- 500 Megabytes of available hard drive space
- CDROM/DVD player
- An available USB port
You will also need to have completed the Pre-Class Assignment:
You will receive the Pre-Class Assignment once you register to take our class. Don't worry, there is nothing difficult involved, mostly information gathering for our first day with you. The information you provide in this assignment is very important for the initial planning phase of your website.
How long are classes and when are they offered?
The 6 Day Website Design class is 18 hours total. Classes are taught Tuesday and Thursday of each week for three consecutive weeks. Each day of class is 3 hours in length. The first hour and a half is for instruction, the remaining hour and a half is for hands on practice and questions. Classes are in the evening from 6pm ~ 9pm. If these hours are not convenient for your own schedule, please call us so that we may discuss how to accommodate your specific scheduling needs.
What is the total cost of the class?
The 6 Day Website Design class is $495. This can vary depending on if you decide to buy a theme rather than use a free one. You are not required to purchase a theme to take this class. The total cost of the class with a FREE theme is $495. Hosting of the completed website is not included in the cost of the class. A dependable shared hosting company will charge anywhere from $4.95 ~ $12.95 a month for service. We will teach you how to select the right hosting service for your needs in our class. Additionally you will be taught how to relocate your new website to a host of your choice or offered the option to host it with us. Our hosting options are explained to you at class end, but you will not be subjected to any high pressure sales of any kind.

A theme is a skin for your website which behaves like an intelligent template. Themes are used by the popular WordPress "Blogging" software engine. Themes often contain unique features to set themselves apart from their competitors. Selecting a theme can be fun or a nightmare of wasted time and money. Our expertise and training will show you how to have a great time looking for your theme.
How much does a theme cost?
Like many things in life, themes come in a range from the High or Premium Theme, to Medium and Low end , or FREE. Specific pricing will vary depending on a theme's features and license rights. If you decide to use a FREE theme for the class, it does not necessarily imply that it is cheap or not as good somehow as other themes that you pay for. There are many perfectly acceptable FREE themes to be found on the Internet. What is more important, is whether a theme is stable and meets all of the criteria you have set for your website design needs. You will be taught how to properly select a theme for your needs the first day of the class.
