The most important thing you will need is a desire to learn. We will assume you have that if you are reading this FAQ. You will need to already be familiar with your computer and it’s capabilities. We do not teach basic computers 101 in the Website Design class. You should understand how to browse the Internet using one or more of the popular browsers available. An understanding of both sending and receiving of email, as well as knowledge of computer paths and file naming conventions is also required.
You will need the following equipment:
- Wireless laptop running Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
(Mac users Welcome!, must be running Windows)
- 500 Megabytes of available hard drive space
- CDROM/DVD player
- An available USB port
- You will need a mouse & mouse pad, the touch pad of your computer will be too slow to keep up.
You will also need to have completed the Pre-Class Assignment:
You will receive the Pre-Class Assignment once you register to take our class. Don’t worry, there is nothing difficult involved, mostly information gathering for our first day with you. The information you provide in this assignment is very important for the initial planning phase of your website.
